Our GWU wraps are available in 3 sizes depending on what type of wrap you select. The sizes of the individual wraps vary depending on the strip sizing: 16, 20 or 22 strips. Every sheet has a minimum of 2 of each size on a sheet.
Which wraps come in which size?
- Gel Wraps and UV Free Gel Wraps: 20 strips
- Polish Wraps: 16, 20 or 22, depending on the design. The strip count is listed on each product page.
- Gel Toe Wraps: their own 32 strip toe sheet. See the toe section further down.
Compare the three sheets
| Sheet | Sizes | Narrowest | Widest |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16 strips | 8 | 7 mm | 16 mm |
| 20 strips | 10 | 7 mm | 17 mm |
| 22 strips | 11 | 7 mm | 18 mm |
How to measure
The primary way of measuring is to hold the wrap over your nail and size up the closest size and then curve the wrap so that it is roughly fitting across the nail.
Looking at it without curving against the nail may have you selecting one that is too small, the curve adds a few mm.
If you feel you need a little more certainty, then track down a piece of tape (masking tape works well) and stick it across your nail. Make sure to go past each of the side walls. Then using a pen or marker make a line on the tape between the skin folds on the side and your nail. When you remove the tape the width from one line to the other will be a good indication of the size wrap you should use.
Whichever measurement method you opt for, make sure the size you choose ends just a little shy of touching your skin.
Between sizes?
Go for the smaller one. A wrap that touches your skin or cuticle is the main cause of lifting, and a hairline gap at the edge won't show.
Polish wraps are not as flexible and bendable as gel wraps, but they can be stretched just slightly to make a smaller wrap that is just too small fit the nail.
We recommend you do this with a spare polish wrap first to get used to it as too much stretch may cause a tear.
Gel Wraps can do quite a bit more stretching, and again, we recommend trying it with a spare wrap to practice with.
Try to do the stretch in one go as excessive touching of the adhesive will cause it to lift or not stick.
The sheets up close
16 strip sheet
- 8 sizes, from 7 mm to 16 mm.
- Great for smaller nails.
- Currently only available in Polish Wraps.
- Slightly thinner layer than the 20 & 22 Strip Polish wraps.

20 strip sheet
- 10 sizes, from 7 mm to 17 mm.
- Industry standard.
- Available in gel and polish wraps.

22 strip sheet
- 11 sizes, from 7 mm to 18 mm, including two 12 mm sizes.
- Great for larger/wider nails and thumbs.
- Currently only available in Polish Wraps.

Tip: Short nails? Get two from one.
If you have short nail beds or short nails, you may be able to use one wrap for 2 nails. When you place the wrap on your nail and can see that there is a substantial amount reaching past the edge of the nail, cut it straight across at the length you need and use the remaining section on the other hand or a different nail.
Toes
Gel Toe Wraps come on a 32 strip sheet made for toes, with 10 sizes from 6 mm to 18 mm. Measure each toenail the same way, across the widest part. Your big toes take the largest strips, and the rest work down from there.
